Seins denses
Une densité mammaire élevée augmente le risque de cancer du sein et en complique le dépistage à la mammographie. Vous pouvez agir pour réduire votre risque. Connaître et comprendre votre densité mammaire est une première étape essentielle.

If any of the locations above work for you, please ask your healthcare provider for a requisition. Mammograms are not enough for dense breasts. If you need help getting a requisition, see our conversation tips in the footer of our website. If your province does not provide screening ultrasound, then please consider helping us advocate for essential screening for women with dense breasts. Thank you.

Four Categories of Breast Density
Being informed is one of the most important things you can do for your breast health. Every woman should know her breast density, understand her family history, be aware of her personal breast cancer risk, participate in regular screening, seek prompt imaging for new breast symptoms, and remember that no screening test detects every cancer. This page provides evidence-based answers to the questions women most commonly ask about breast screening, helping you make informed decisions and have meaningful conversations with your healthcare provider.
Informez-vous sur les programmes de dépistage disponibles dans votre province ou territoire, sur l’état actuel des recherches menées par des experts en cancer du sein, et sur la façon de faire valoir vos droits pour un dépistage adapté.
Read the powerful stories of those with lived experience with breast cancer and what they would like you to know. If you would like to share your story with DBC, we would be honoured.

Stories of Resilience
A Journey of Strength and Hope
Twenty-six deeply personal stories of lives impacted by breast cancer. Each journey is unique, yet together they speak to the fear, uncertainty, and resilience that come with hearing the words no one is ever prepared for. This collection offers comfort, connection, and a reminder that no one should have to walk this path alone. Award-winning photographer Hilary Gauld's artistic vision captures the courage, strength, and humanity of every participant.
Close to the Chest can be ordered through Amazon.ca at the link below. Net proceeds from the book help fund DBC's mission to advance evidence-based policies and improve equitable access to optimal breast screening.
Thank you for reading these stories, honouring the individuals who shared them, and joining us in working towards a future where everyone has access to the information and breast screening they need.
